https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iT5dk93e5g

We watched Thumbelina for our Friday film. The film is about a tiny girl who is the size of a thumb, which is how she got her name THUMBelina.
She falls in love with a prince who is the same size as her, but then she is captured by Mrs. Toad who wants her to join their singing group and marry her son.
Thumbelina escapes and has adventures in the forest on her way back home. In the end the prince marries her.

While watching this film the children ate snacks and enjoyed the movie.

ONCE UPON A TIME...

Once upon a time… some children from María Inmaculada had a fantastic time at the theatre in Zamora.

This is an excerpt of the play that we were able to watch at the Forum Theatre.

“For Alice, the old bookshop becomes the best refuge on a boring, grey and rainy afternoon. But she would never have imagined that in this place, full of books, pages and endless shelves, she would have of the greatest adventures of her life.
Mr. Michael, the bookshop owner, a very kind man who has a talking owl as a pet, will lend her a book where all the tales sleep. Alice will drop the book on the floor, causing all the characters who were sleeping inside to awaken, making them nervous and confused, and even getting lost within the tales. Mr. Michael will ask Alice to repair the damage she has done by putting everything back into place. In this way, one by one, all the tales would be once again what they have always been: an endless source of imagination.”

Thanks Forum Theatre & Education, we hope that we can enjoy more of your plays next year!

USING OUR CREATIVITY TO GROW OUR MINDS!

Last Thursday we made a three dimensional castle in our “arts and crafts” lesson. In order to learn about 3D forms in art and the environment we live in. The children had fun colouring, cutting, folding and pasting all of the different parts together. By the end of class all of the castles looked awesome.

They worked together and had an amazing time!

Daily routines

Hi guys!

What do you do during the day?

As I told you this morning, “Morning Routines” are really important because it is vocabulary or expressions that we use every day.

If we learn new expressions we will feel more confident with our English and at the same time we will be able to exchange ideas with friends or learn more about them.

In Spanish it is common to tell your friend the activities you do or did during the day. For example: at what time did you finish your homework or if you went to the park or not…
I will give you some “Morning routines” which I want you to copy in your English notebook next to the translation in Spanish.

Remember! It is not only about copying the expressions…the most important thing is to use them in the classroom every day   : )

I recommend that you to watch these videos!

December, We love you! : )

Sledding and building a snowman : )

In many places in the United States of America and in Canada there is a ton of snow. What do the children and families do when there is so much snow on the ground? Well, there are many activities that you can do when there is snow on the ground. For example you can go sledding, make a snow angel or a snowman. Sledding is where you go up a big hill with a sled; it can be wooden or plastic. Once you reach the top of the hill you sit down on top of your sled, have your friend or family member give you a push and down the hill you go.  You know when you are finished when you stop moving. When you are finished you get off your sled and run up the hill to go down again.

Another activity that you can do with friends or family is to build a snowman. Watch the video to get an idea of what you need to do. When you build your snowman you need to make sure that he has two arms, a nose, a mouth and eyes. You can also put a scarf on him, a hat, gloves or buttons as well. You can also make a snow woman, a snow dog, a snow child or a snow baby. You can make a whole snow family.
