PUPPET SHOW AND CRAFTS!

Year 1 enjoyed doing a puppet show with animals that were homemade! The 5 year olds did crafts!

The English class is provided with multiple resources. There is a big variety of books and audio-visual materials. If we analyze learning of English from a more functional point of view we can see that the interaction in the use of the language is the best way of developing the communicative competence. The hand puppets give us the ability to practice our communicative skills.

First of all we would like to present it in a very attractive format for the children by using characters, dolls and animals. They are also very versatile, since they can adapt themselves to almost any situation, didactic programming or activity in class. The puppets allow them to assume characters roles that can be different than their personalities.   The puppets appear in different forms such as size, types and colours while having different expressions.

As you can see the little ones enjoyed doing some crafts. They made skeletons, octopuses, flowers and balloons!

You can learn English while developing your creative side!

Our travelling book!

Our travelling book!

As all of you know from last year every course in our primary school makes the “travelling book”.
It is a book that children have to decorate in an attractive and personal way. The first day that I introduced the book to the students it had empty pages, but by the end of the year it will be full of pictures, stories and experiences.

When the book has been to every student´s house the travelling book will be finished.

Every Monday, this book travels to a student house. It stays at their house for one week. Then when the next Monday comes the student brings it back to school and then the next child takes it home.
Each Monday one child is the protagonist that shares their story with his/her friends and the teacher.

In our book parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters can participate. They help the children to write at home something that is significant to them. This can be a tongue twister, recipes, poetry, folk songs, riddles, curious anecdotes, drawings, etc.

We think it is a very interesting activity because students love to be the protagonist of the week. They like to have personal responsibility and being able to include their family and close friends.
